Profile

Data scientist in Zurich,
working on models that meet the physical world.

I trained multimodal transformers on sleep EEG for my master's at Idiap. These days I'm building a custom IMU sensor system to learn what a good ski carve looks like: hardware, firmware, and the model on top.

I gravitate toward messy data and real feedback loops. Python and PyTorch daily. I care more about why something works than what framework it runs in.

Off the keyboard I ski, lift, and occasionally write QMK firmware for keyboards that nobody asked for.

How I think and work

01

What exactly is the goal?

I probably spend more time being confused than actually writing code. Most of the real work happens before I open my editor.

02

Claude pls explain this to me like I'm 5

I don't mind clever solutions, I just hate debugging them at 2am. If I can't explain a system in one sentence, I haven't finished designing it.

03

Wait what is this model saying...?

I have stared at a loss curve looking perfect and then plotted the actual outputs and it was just confidently wrong about everything. Now I test on the data I was hoping to avoid.
